Dubai Urban Tech District To Create 4000 Jobs In Green Urban Technology & Education
Dubai-based URB has unveiled the new Dubai Urban Tech District, which aims to be known for innovation in urban technology and as a home for the most visionary entrepreneurs. The new urban technology district in Dubai will create 4,000 jobs related to green urban technology and education. It will cover 140,000 square meters on the Creekside of Al Jaddaf district in Dubai.
A Leading Urban Tech Transformation
Baharash Bagherian, CEO of URB, the company behind the Urban Tech District, said Dubai is ideally positioned to lead the urban tech transformation. A new global hub for urban innovation will be created with the Urban Tech District Dubai. As the world’s largest urban tech district, it will make Dubai the center for urban innovation, covering 140,000 square meters of built-up area, and create jobs in green urban technology.
Among the amenities, the Urban Tech District Dubai will offer are the ability to host conferences, seminars, business incubator programs, training sessions, and research sessions. Construction and operating carbon emissions for the building would also be offset. The new development in Dubai will also reduce the carbon footprints of its partner businesses through its net zero carbon status, enabling the creation of a low-carbon workforce for the area.
A Platform For New Generation Businesses
As one of the newest developments in Dubai, it will provide a platform for businesses that require a platform to grow rapidly. The project is scheduled to begin in 2024 and be completed by 2030 in two phases. Among the new initiatives will be an institute to foster leaders in urban technology. Furthermore, the new district in Dubai will promote public-private partnerships while piloting innovation, URB said.
A key component of the Urban Tech District will be innovation. Urban-tech solutions in Dubai will be developed on a much larger scale through the district and entrepreneurs will be provided with an opportunity to invest in some of the most important issues related to sustainable cities in UAE. A new generation of creative businesses will also be given a platform to thrive as a result of this new innovation in Dubai.
Core Focus – Net Zero Sustainable City
Industry-specific clusters already exist in Dubai, such as those covering media, e-commerce, and logistics. Government-owned businesses, however, constructed most of them. Dubai Design District is where URB originates. Kuwait’s Xzero City and Riyadh’s Alnama Smart City are included in its project portfolio. A net zero sustainable city is the core focus of the development management and master planning services provided by Bagherian Consulting.
It is estimated that the global urban tech market will reach $158 billion in the next decade. A range of challenges created by urbanization is addressed in technologically advanced urban developments, including zero-mile food production, food security, renewable energy with affordable and scalable costs, water harvesting that requires little energy, waste-to-energy solutions, and zero-waste management. Cities face many challenges, and these are just a few.
The Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040, which outlines Dubai’s development over the next twenty years, was also released earlier this year. A people-led, sustainable city, Dubai will balance community, tourism, heritage, and modernity in a way that is harmonious with its natural surroundings.
