Dubai’s comprehensive human-centered urban development plan, which aims to create a sustainability future city, constantly strives to increase the quality of life of residents and strengthen community bonds.
In an effort to raise sustainability standards for buildings, homes, and roads across the country by 5%, His Highness, Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai has approved new plans. In order to support citizens’ ability to launch their own projects in residential neighborhoods, His Highness directed the Committee’s teams to develop plans and initiatives.
Plans and designs for residences in Al Mizhar 1, Al Khawaneej 2, and Al Barsha 2 were approved by the Crown Prince. There will be a distinct personality and identity for each development. Ghaf trees inspired the design of Al Mizhar 1, while water inspired Al Khawaneej 2, and sand dunes inspired Al Barsha 2. There will be facilities for sports and recreational activities in the gardens and squares of residential neighborhoods. Restaurants, open markets, shops, halls, and sports facilities are available in the model neighborhoods for citizens to invest in or start a business.
Residents of the emirate were also provided with facilities and support, so they could launch projects that allowed them to be socially, economically, and demographically stable.
As a result of the city’s growing population and focus on a greener future, the city has been forced to change its regulations in response. Construction continues to grow as a result of an influx of new residents. The UAE has incorporated sustainability practices into the construction industry for many years now, and even received the LEED Platinum rating from the US Green Building Council, the first in the MENA region!
