A new strategic plan and vision have been released by Dubai Land Department (DLD). This plan shows the department’s direction until 2026. DLD’s plan and vision are in line with Executive Council Of Dubai Resolution No 81, approved by Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, pertaining to its organizational structure.

Various members of DLD’s team and management have constantly worked together to ensure that the final form of the strategy is compatible with present-day and future global practices and developments. Additionally, it will enhance Dubai’s real estate sector’s contribution to GDP, as well as support the objectives and strategic directions of other sectors.

Based on five pillars, the new strategic plan for 2026 contains many pioneering and proactive initiatives:

  • Firstly, there is a real estate model that aims to enhance the sector’s sustainability and readiness.
  • As part of the second pillar, the company will foster a globally competitive real estate sector and utilize technology in order to develop real estate solutions.
  • By increasing awareness, and building trust and transparency in the real estate sector, the third pillar is to become a data-driven sector.
  • The fourth pillar is directed towards cultivating a flourishing digital ecosystem, enhancing DLD’s operations, improving corporate governance efficiency, and fostering public-private partnerships.
  • Finally, Exceptional Journeys 2.0 aims to shift DLD’s culture to an employee-first approach, refresh its identity, enhance its position, and move to a proactive, ‘human’ approach.

In cooperation with various partners and customers, DLD team members will ensure the implementation of strategic initiatives across the five pillars in the most efficient and effective manner, based on the ease of application and priority matrix.

The approved initiatives will be implemented in three stages. DLD needs to be able to adapt quickly to the proposed changes through quick-gain initiatives. Providing support to enable smooth implementation of the transformation is the second stage – empowering the real estate sector and DLD alike. The third stage involves achieving sustainable impact by extending influence to the global real estate industry.

As part of the updated strategy developed by DLD, four fundamental principles were discussed in order to achieve the best results and outputs, the first of which is sustainable impact by directing the company’s efforts toward achieving the growth of the real estate industry through sustainable development.

Second, global practices should be adapted to the characteristics and needs of the Dubai real estate market through local adaptation. Third, Dubai should be positioned as a role model within the real estate sector by developing a plan for global leadership. A participatory approach to DLD’s plan is the fourth principle, which emphasizes cooperation and harmonization.

With its distinguished achievements at all levels, the UAE is making a mark on global comprehensive and sustainable development at the same time that DLD announced its updated strategy. A key factor in making the nation a global destination and a shining example for a bright future of creativity, advancement, innovation, and sustainability is its economic and development sectors.
