What Happens If One Crosses The Darb Toll Gate In An Unregistered Car In UAE?

If you are a non-Darb registered vehicle owner or if you are visiting Abu Dhabi from another emirate, you may face a scenario in which you cross a Darb Toll Gate without registration. In case you are concerned about getting fined for not registering your vehicle, there is good news. Registration and fees are due within 10 working days of crossing the gate. All users are required to register with Darb. With number plates and emblems indicating the ranks and affiliations of ambulances, armed forces, and civil defense. It costs DH100 to register for Darb, out of which the user will receive DH50 back. DH50 is the actual registration fee for Darb.

 

When You Cross A Toll Bridge With An Unregistered Vehicle, What Do You Do Next?

If you have just driven a vehicle that has not been registered with the Darb toll system, an SMS will be sent to your registered cell phone number telling you that you have crossed the toll gate. Further directions are provided in the SMS, including the request to register your vehicle in the Darb – toll gates system within 10 working days so as to avoid violating the rules.

 

In The Event That A Vehicle Is Not Registered, What Will Happen?

  • After 10 working days, you will have to pay a DH100 fine if you don’t register your car.
  • A fine of DH200 will be imposed if the car is driven through the gate a second time without registration
  • You’ll be fined DH400 if you enter the gate a third time.

What do You need To Do To Register Your Vehicle?

If you wish to avoid paying any fines, you must first create a Darb account:

  • Visit the darb website – darb.itc.gov.ae.
  • On the toll gate system login page, click on create a new account for individuals.
  • You will be asked for your email address, enter it.
  • Verify your email by entering the verification code.
  • Enter your traffic number and the emirate in which your vehicle is registered.
  • To receive a verification code, enter the mobile number associated with your traffic number
  • Your phone will send you a verification code. Enter it.
  • Click on complete registration after entering all profile information.

E-wallet top-ups are now available and your account has been activated.

 

What do You need To Know About Topping Up Your E-Wallet?

  • When you log on to the Darb website, you’ll see a widget called “financial wallets” on your dashboard.
  • Under “my wallet,” the amount appears as DH0 if you’ve made a fresh account.
  • Select ‘top up’ from the menu.
  • With the wallet, you can choose between top-up amounts of DH50, DH100, dh150, or DH200. You may also specify an amount based on your needs.
  • You can top up using a credit card by selecting the “top up using credit card” option.
  • Provide your credit card information and any other information related to your credit card.
  • Then click the ‘pay’ button.

After your payment has been processed, your e-wallet will reflect the amount.
